Interference:
Only free cyanide and cyanide complexes that can be decomposed by chlorine can be determined by this test kit. When the content of thiocyanate (SCN-) is higher than 1 mg/l, it will show a similar color change when reacting with cyanide. When the content of iodine and bromine exceeds 5 mg/l, the color of the reaction will become lighter, and the color change will be prevented at very high concentrations. When the content of sulfide ion (S2-) is less than 20 mg/l, no interference will occur, and too high a content will prevent the color change.
If the pH value is > 10, the buffering capacity of the buffer (cyanide-1) is insufficient to adjust the pH value of the sample solution to 6-7. In this case, the pH value should be adjusted to 6-7 by adding dilute sulfuric acid before testing.
