AQUADUR® test strips are used to determine water hardness quickly and easily. The convenient reading procedure and clear color change from green to red ensure reliable results within seconds.
Water hardness is primarily determined by the amount of calcium and magnesium salts in the water. The sum of these salts determines the actual water hardness. In the United States, water hardness is expressed in ppm (mg/L) CaCO3.
Often, water is often simply classified as either "soft" or "hard." In general, the following values ​​apply to the terms:
Less than 50 ppm CaCO3 - Very soft water
50 - 120 ppm CaCO3 - Soft water
120 - 240 ppm CaCO3 - Moderately hard water
240 - 360 ppm CaCO3 - Hard Water
Above 360ppm CaCO3 - Very hard water

AQUAUDR® sensitive water hardness test strips include the same advantages as the classic AQUADUR® test strips, but with a special very low measuring range.
Test strips are the perfect tool whenever very small amounts of water hardness have to be detected safely. Test strips are used successfully in dialysis centers, for example, to check the feed water so that the sensitive reverse osmosis units are not destroyed by excessive water hardness.
